Lacebark Tree – Brachychiton discolor native Australian Tree from the Bottle Tree family.

Plants vary from the photos.

Approx 1.2-1.4m not including the pots. Due to our chemical free practices and natural dam water usage, the plants may present with imperfections such as discoloured and chewed leaves.

Sold in recycled Plastic pots. Plants have been grown from seeds locally using chemical free practises and grown to the local conditions of Wide Bay Burnett region and not kept in a shade house. They happily grow in full sun.

An attractive tree up to 30m of distinguished appearance, less frost-sensitive and drought resistant than the flame tree, endemic to coastal scrubs and drier rainforests of Eastern Australia. This tree is often widely planted as an ornamental tree featuring pink flowers.

Growing Conditions: Brachychiton discolor will grow in semi shade to full sun, in any type of soil that is well drained, and handle frosts and droughts once established. The tree have a compact root system, but is not suitable to narrow or constrained spaces where it will lift pavement.

Aboriginal uses: The seeds when roasted are edible. The wood was readily used for shields by aboriginal people.
